I have saved this post I made to the Suitcase forum. If you’re looking for a font manager, don’t invest in Suitcase Fusion 8. Floating Previews hover over all other applicationsĪs Extensis recently wiped out the user forums, there’s no central place for users or potential customers to get help from the community or to warn of the perils of upgrading to version 8.FontDoctor included Free for additional corruption detection and organization.Create PNG font previews by drag-and-drop with Font Snapshots.Supports the use of Adobe Typekit desktop fonts from your Creative Cloud subscription.Web font enabled with WebINK and Google Font connections.Find similar fonts fast with QuickMatch.Patented Font Sense technology fingerprints fonts for precise identification.See how fonts work side-by-side in paste-up style previews with QuickComp.Support includes OS X 10.9 Mavericks and Windows 8.Auto-activation plug-ins for professional design applications, including Adobe Creative Cloud and QuarkXPress.Full-featured font previews allow you to compare fonts side-by-side.But there is a lot more you actually do with fonts - namely traditional and web design. Its not that pretty but it works very solidly and is actively developed at least.Connect Fonts is the creative professional's font manager.Įvery professional font manager should deliver the basics: spectacular previews, powerful search tools, and efficient font organization. Maintype is the only one I would consider at the moment - and forget about auto-activation. So in summary nothing has changed since I wrote this 3 years ago: woeful state of font management on windows I wrote to them asking if it was windows 10 compatible (which was actually just a foil for seeing if anyone was at home: guess what? no one was). I had great hopes for this a few years ago, but seeing as the website still lists it as compatible with "windows 7, vista and xp" I didn't bother. TypeDNA: I didn't bother installing this this time around. I used it for a few years, ditched it because the auto-activation stopped working, then got increasingly fed up with their tech support and lack of development. This is the thread: fonts not available in premiere - Font Forum Someone from maintype answered quickly - great! (The answer is not great but at least they answered!!)įontagent pro: I noticed they dropped the version number - because they don't develop it anymore. Main problem I've found is that activated fonts do not appear in premiere - I have to restart premiere to see them. They hide the fact that they dont support it in CC. They should get a slap on the wrists though for advertising it with adobe auto activation as a feature- so long as you're using CS6 or below. Maintype: 5.1 (currently on 6): Much quicker than the rest, stable. (This is software for designers, up your game folks!) I also found it slow. Same baby blue colour as outlook 2007 complete with pixelly rounded corners. Uninstalled it pretty quickįont explorer x pro: version 3.5 I had high hopes but gee it looks dated. Nexus font: simple but very slow (i've got about 6000 and it would read all of them each time you switch views). Here's why:įontbase: beta software, looks lovely could be great but buggy and doesn't seem to actually do much at the moment I spent 3 or 4 hours trying various font managers yesterday and I ended up where I started. Yep I wont go near extensis again, they run roughshod over your system.
